To deny Warmhammer's influence on WoW is akin to denything that Tolkien had any influence on the fantasy genre at large.

Regarding Mage Knight's success vs the WoW miniature game, let's consider this: Mage Knight saw 16 expansions over its five-year life-cycle, and its rules were adopted for HeroClix, the most financially successful collectible miniatures game in history.

The WoW miniature game, on the other hand, saw three expansions over its one-year life-cycle.

Maybe you, and others, liked the WoW miniatures rules better than any of the Clix rules, but that means nothing as far as the market penetration and financial success of Mage Knight goes. Simply put, many more people enjoyed Mage Knight, so you are in the minority.

It's obvious, both the Massivley's post and this one, are about as ignorant as possible. I play both wow minis and warhammer and I fail to find anything substanstial in your claims. Stating WoW had Warhammer for an inpsiration for their minis game is like saying asain music was inspired by western classical music. Two TOTALLY diffrent games in every aspect. Seriously, both reporters did not even play the frikin game. Now, back to this shamble of an article. Partially based on warhammer? Like how? Let's not mention the comment on mage knight...successful game? I think not since mageknight is the most horrid cmg I have played alongside heroclix, sw, and dnd minis. WoW minis actually stepped it up by making a new cmg (with a much better improvement on clix mechanics)that successfully translated the feel of the online game characters and their corresponding abilities. It also gave a bit of the wow tcg "flavor" to it as well. Too bad the license got entrusted with the upper deck buffoons and hence the prediction made in this article not getting past a third expansion was correct...just not for the reason given. I don't get why warhammer fanboys have to crap all over anything miniature without having even played other games. Warhammer is a great game and I have enjoyed for more than a decade now but it's unfortunate to find alot of fanboys so shallow and limited in their experience when it come to other cmgs. Shallow, very shallow. privateer press on the other hand smokes GW by a long shot if you really want to compare similar games. End of line...
